THE Isle OF Skye
This Island is 50 miles long, the largest of the Inner Hebrides and is one of the most popular places to visit in Scotland. Skye is famous for its ever-changing light and rugged landscapes.

Skye can get rather busy in high summer but there is always plenty of peace and quiet in my corner of the island – the Sleat peninsula, known as the garden of Skye. There are many lovely walks nearby along the coast, across moorland or in woods, all a short drive away. At the bottom of the hill, less than a mile away, is a secluded cove – you can stroll down there to swim from a pebble beach.
Beyond lies the rest of Skye with its dark, dramatic Cuillin mountains and rich wildlife – otters, white-tailed eagles, golden eagles and many other birds, whale watching cruises, whisky distilleries, art and craft galleries… there’s plenty to see and do (you can pop in to the pottery studio next door).
